Jake started Albatross (formerly Sports Cards KC) at the beginning of 2018 out of an interest for sports cards and a passion for people.

When he's not working, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Jess, and two kids, Jordie and Collin, watching sports, playing disc golf with friends, and eating the best food KC has to offer.

He hopes that Albatross can be a place where people can build and create community.

RJ Lawson

RJ started playing disc golf in 2018 after a buddy invited him to get in a round with him. At that point, RJ had only heard of disc golf, but never played. That first time went horribly, but he went out again shortly after and was hooked. He started playing tournaments in 2020 and plays one almost every weekend.

RJ’s other hobbies include stunt riding, skydiving, firearms, and video games. With disc golf, though, it is more goal-oriented than the aforementioned activities - when he plays, he’s always looking to compete and looking for ways to improve his game. His goal for the 2023 season is to become 975 rated.

Jeff Lee

Jeff started playing disc golf in 2013 when the organization he worked for held a charity event at KC’s Thornfield Course.

Jeff is a pastor and leads men’s ministries at Christ Community’s Downtown Campus. In his full-time job he specializes in helping men and women returning from incarceration find success.

He is married to Beki, a psychologist at the VA here in KC, where they are raising 3 amazing children Malachi, Noah, and Bronwyn.

Lars Hanson

Lars has always enjoyed competing in sports; whether it was basketball, cross country, American Ninja Warrior, and now, stepping into the world of disc golf.

He is the owner of the Ignite Sports Performance gym in Olathe, KS and enjoys spending time on the water and going to parks and playing with his two kids.

Disc golf has now become a platform to experience God’s creation while going deep in transformational conversation with youth athletes that he coaches.
